Rev James Cruickshank

James Cruickshank was born in Peterhead, son of John Cruickshank and Henrietta Hay; educated at University of St Andrews; licensed by the Presbytery of Forfar; ordained to Manor on the 12th of September, 1833; translated and admitted 22nd Septer 1843, died 17th October 1880. He married Janet Ann Elizabeth on the 3rd of July 1839, (born on the 6th September 1807, died 16th June 1877), daughter of James Burnett of Barns, Peebleshire. Children: Henrietta Hay, born on the 24th June 1840, and died 8th October 1850; Christian Catherine, born 13th May 1844 (married 14th April 1869, James Smith, LL.D, Minister of Newhills); James Burnett, born 26th December 1845, died in Ceylon, 21st January 1877; John Robert Lee, born 18th August 1848, died in British Guiana, 14th May 1901.
