Outline of a Church Funeral Service
1. Prelude —
The Organist normally selects music to be played while people gather.
2. Welcome & Opening Remarks
3. First Hymn

4. Prayer
5. Bible Readings -
Two Bible readings will normally be read (the 1st reading will normally be taken from the Old Testament, followed by a New Testament Bible reading.)
6. Family Eulogy -
The Minister or a family member will share a family tribute, telling the “story” of the person’s life in a way that gives tribute to the person.
7. Funeral Message —
A short reflection offering comfort.
8. Closing prayer —
Giving thanks in prayer for our Loved One.
9. Closing hymn

10. Benediction -
A blessing pronounced on all who have gathered.
11. Dismissal —
The Organist will select appropriate music as people leave the Church.
For A Crematorium Service
The Crematorium Service normally follows the same "order" as a Church Service. The only difference will be at the "Benediction" (see No.10). At a Crematorium Service the guests are asked to remain standing after the closing hymn for the "Words of Committal", which will then be followed by the "Benediction & Dismissal".
